Pete Ross's Bio

Pete has dedicated his entire adult life to researching, discovering and applying his knowledge of Physical Training for the benefit of literally hundreds of individuals of all ages and physical abilities. He spent 26 years in the RAF-attaining the rank of Flight Sergeant- as a Physical Training Instructor (PTI) ; 6 of which were spent as a Staff Instructor on the elite School of Physical Training where he taught aspirant PTIs during a 23 week programme.

He also spent 8 years in the RAF Mountain Rescue Service and 3 years as a Mountaineering Instructor at the Joint Service Mountain Training Centre (Ballachulish) Scotland.

He was also an accomplished distance runner who upon retirement proceeded to coach a variety of RAF representative athletes, including the 1996 Combined Service 800m champion. Pete also holds the Register of Exercise Professionals level 4 qualification; which is only awarded to the upper echelon of experienced and qualified fitness professionals within the UK.

Currently Pete is a Pilates 'nutcase' who also loves to cycle, 'boulder' down his local climbing centre and climb with his amigos. He also likes to mellow out occasionally with a glass of red and some poetry.

Pete's philosophy:

‘I’ve always been fascinated as to why certain individuals have the physical capabilities and mental attitude to become top-level performers; yet others struggle to motivate themselves to keep fit enough to remain healthy. My philosophy is this: I believe everybody wants to be healthier and fitter and own a strong, functional, aesthetically balanced and injury free physique. I also believe that it is possible for the vast majority of people to achieve this and self-esteem and personal happiness stems from being 'all you can be physically'. In fact we evolved to have the capability to become much fitter than the current population average. Ask yourself (not your mate at the next desk!) - do you want this, or don't you? It may take time for you to reach your objectives-but are you really happy where you are? Really?  Wouldn't you even want to make even modest changes in your current fitness levels and gain the knowledge from an expert on how to maintain those changes. If you believe deep down my philosophy matches your own.
